Macron Performance of the Month Awards

Tonbridge Angels, Brightlingsea Regent and Merstham have scooped the Ryman League campaign's inaugural Macron Performance of the Month Awards.

The trio were named on Wednesday as August's winners of the monthly competition to recognise and reward the top performances over the course of the 2014-15 season in the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South divisions.

Judges made their choices after considering a shortlist of potential clashes before casting their vote based on the result, form and circumstances behind the winning performances.

Each divisional winner can now look forward to being presented with a glass trophy marking the club's achievement at an upcoming fixture by representatives from the league and sponsors Macron.

Tonbridge Angels were named as Macron’s top flight winners after grabbing a last minute winner in a 1-0 win over Kent rivals Maidstone United in front of more than 1,000 fans at the Longmead Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.

Ryman North newboys Brightlingsea Regent marked their first month in the league with a Macron accolade, the former Eastern Counties League club's 3-2 victory away at Southern League Royston Town in the FA Cup's Preliminary Round on Saturday 30 August earning them the honour.

Surrey side Merstham were always likely favourites for the first laurels to be handed out by Macron in Ryman South thanks to their 6-0 rout of Three Bridges at the Moatside in only their second outing of the new campaign back on Tuesday 12 August.
