Recently we wrote that whoever replaced John Coventry at East Thurrock United would have very big shoes to fill- and the club have now announced that the new man with the size elevens is former Romford boss Paul Martin.
Martin is a legend in Essex football circles, and indeed across the Isthmian League. He had fifteen years at the Romford helm, delivering North Division survival for year after year- as well as an Essex Senior League title in 2009- despite the club having no ground and very little in the way of resource. His time at the club came to an ignominious end in November when Glenn Tamplin arrived at the Boro and decided to put himself in charge, seeing the departure of Paul and his Assistant Mark Lord- who will also be taking up the same role for the Rocks.
Head to the Rocks website, here, to read Paul's reaction to his appointment.
