Magpies pick their high-flyers

Dereham announce their award winners

Dereham Town last night announced which of their players had picked up prizes for their performances during the abruptly-terminated 2019-20 season.

The Supporters Player of the Season was Dion Frary. Dion returned to the Magpies on loan from Kings Lynn during 2017-18, made that move permanent the following season, playing 39 times, and had made a further thirty one appearances, mainly in the number two shirt, before last season ended.

The Young Player of the Season was Robbie Linford. Robbie came through the ranks, appearing for the Under 18's and the reserve side, but in recent times the midfielder has become a big part of the first team setup. He made twenty four appearances last season, weighing in with four goals- and the Magpies were undefeated when he scored!

The Players Player of the Season was Adam Hipperson. Adam came in from Norwich United in 2018, and over the last two seasons has become a very important part of the first team setup- particularly last season when he became a goal machine, scoring nineteen times.

Finally, Manager Adam Gusterson's pick as Player of the Season was Rhys Logan. Rhys made thirty three appearances in the number seven shirt last season, scoring seven goals- and rather interestingly all seven of those goals came in five consecutive matches, and included a hat trick against Witham Town.

Congratulations to these high-flying Magpies.
