Maldon see Coombes return

Less than three months since we announced his departure to Tilbury, Maldon midfielder Sam Coombes was back on familiar ground on Monday, wearing the number four shirt as his side faced local rivals Heybridge Swifts. Sadly he didn't get to play ninety minutes- nobody did as the match was abandoned due to floodlight failure.

Sam made fourteen appearances for the Jammers during 2019-20 and another dozen last season. He has also played for Brightlingsea Regent, and was once on the books at Southend United.

His short time at the Dockers saw him play eleven times, including in the four-two defeat against the Jammers on October 30th.
