Basildon United announce boss Darren Manning is to depart

Basildon United are having a fine season, but our third place Pitching In Isthmian North side have just hit a rather large bump in the road, after confirming the departure of their manager, Darren Manning.

United made a statement on social media this morning.

The statement reads as follows:

'The club's committee regret to announce that yesterday we received an approach in respect of first team manager, Darren Manning.

The club granted Darren permission to speak with the aproaching club and he decided toi take up the opportunity at a club which is dear to his heart.

Whilst the clubs committee are incredibly saddened to be losing Darren's services, they would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Darren for all of his efforts during his time with the club. Darren leaves the club in a very healthy position and will always be welcome back at The Hive.'

Darren took over at the Bees in October last year, after a successful spell in charge of Hullbridge Sports.
