Marlow return to winning ways...

By Ian Townsend

...whilst Westfield and Chipstead play out a six goal thriller. It's our round up of two days of Pitching In Isthmian South Central action.

Marlow closed to within four points of leaders Northwood- with a game in hand- as they came from behind to defeat Sutton Common Rovers at Whyteleafe last night.

Marlow had gone eighteen days without a match as they made the trip to Surrey last night- a long time to think about their last match, also in Surrey, which had seen them lose to South Park Reigate. It looked as if they might be dwelling on that defeat when Rovers went ahead six minutes before the break, Shakeel Morris lighting up a half with little incident by opening the scoring- but the equaliser arrived very quickly after the restart, Toby Raggett's third in four matches, and they went ahead soon afterwards, Aaron McLeish-White making it five goals in ten since his arrival at the club.

The hosts pushed for an equaliser, but the final goal of the match came at the other end, and it went to Nawaf Naheer-Omar- the visitors number eleven sealing three points with his sides third goal.

Marlow are third- behind second place Walton & Hersham only on goals scored, whilst Rovers remain seventeenth.

Westfield and Chipstead met in Woking on Tuesday, and delivered a fabulous spectacle for the one hundred and sixty one watching on. The opening goal came to a player scoring for the eighth time in his last five appearances, Andy Kabuikusomo for the visitors, but it was a lead that lasted only six minutes before Florian Envoudou Ada got at equaliser.

Six minutes before the break the Chips were ahead once more, Jonathan Hood with his seventh in twelve matches, but again the hosts struck back, Troy Walters levelling things up and moving into double figures for the campaign on sixty eight minutes. The visitors perhaps thought they had the winner when Michael Dixon made it three-two seven minutes from time, but for the third time the hosts replied, Envoudou Ada getting his second of the game to earn his side a point.

Field are seventh, three points outside the top five, whilst the Chips are six points further back but stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches.
