Marlow up to third- and a Cup Quarter Final for the Baggies

By Ian Townsend

Marlow come from behind- twice- and grab a late winner, Tanners and the Row take a point each, and the Baggies come from behind in the Velocity Cup

Marlow made it six matches unbeaten- with five wins- as they eventually proved too strong for Hanworth Villa at Rectory Meadow, but they had to come from behind twice before wining the match right at the end.

The Villains went ahead on eight minutes, Kyen Nicholas scoring his fifteenth goal of the season- but the visitors levelled eleven minutes later, the scorer another usual suspect, Dawid Rogalski. That’s twenty seven goals for Rogalski -in just twenty eight appearances. Villa were ahead once more five minutes before the break, an own goal restoring their advantage, but prior to everyone trooping off for a half time orange segment Dave Tarpey drew the visitors level once more, his tenth goal in eleven appearances.

It looked very much as if the sides would need to settle for a point each, but Brandon Curtis had other ideas, and deep into injury time he won the match for the visitors, a result which sees them climb to third- four points behind the leaders.

Leatherhead had started the night in third, but the Tanners had to settle for a hard fought point at Hartley Wintney. Leatherhead took the lead midway through the first half, Luther Williams scoring for the second match in a row. The equaliser came from Conor Lynch, six minutes into the second half, Lynch scoring for the fourth successive match- and, rather impressively, making it ten and ten since his arrival at The Row.

Hartley Wintney are sixth, a point away from the play off places.

In the Velocity Cup, Badshot Lea welcomed Chipstead. The Baggies ended a six match unbeaten league run with victory over Guernsey at the weekend, and they came from behind to defeat fellow South Central side Chipstead right at the end, narrowly averting a penalty shootout. Jaden Edwards put the visitors ahead six minutes into the second half, but the hosts quickly levelled through substitute Luis Hamblin, and then, right at the end, Joshua Keeya popped up to earn his side a Quarter Final spot and a home tie against premier Division side Hashtag United.
