Merstham borrow a trio

By Ian Townsend

Three temporary arrivals at Moatside

Merstham last night announced three new arrivals- each of them on loan from National League sides.

The first is a defender, who arrives from Dulwich Hamlet. A memorable if unfamiliar name, Jamie Splatt has been a regular member of Hamlet's first team squad this season after coming through their youth ranks, but has had little playing time, so heads out on loan to pick up a little more experience.

Next came another defender, this one more familiar. Dquame Copeland moves in from Welling United, who he joined after spending last season turning out for Greenwich Borough and Bedfont Sports and spending some time in Sweden. He made three appearances for Sports at the end of last season, and this season has also been at Lewes, playing as a substitute in their draw with Potters Bar Town and starting at full back in their victory at Brightlingsea Regent. He is equally adept at full back and centre back.

Finally, midfielder Zach Dainkeh joins from Ebbsfleet United. Zach joined the Academy at United after starting his footballing career at Charlton Athletic, signing his first contract back in March. He has appeared for the first team in the Kent Senior Cup and also played a number of times in pre-season. He is described as " a central midfielder with attacking instincts," and "very comfortable on the ball."

You might get to see them all as Merstham travel to face Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.
