Mick Gibson RIP

We mourn "Mr Heybridge"

The Pitching In Isthmian League is sad to announce the passing of Life Member Mick Gibson of Heybridge Swifts FC.

Mick was Chairman of the Club in 1984 when it became a member of the League. A true “One Club Man” Mick was at every match and led the Club through the years as it became a respected Premier Division Club. Mick himself became a League Director in 1995 and served continuously until 2018 when he stood down to let a younger person take his place. At that time he was appointed a Life Member of the League.

League Chair, Nick Robinson, paid this tribute:

“Mick was a great servant to his Club and to the League. He never missed a match or a Board Meeting and we will all miss him. I worked with Mick over many years and was pleased to count him as a friend. He had a huge store of anecdotes and jokes and always had a smile. The welcome at Heybridge will remain as bright but without Mr Heybridge.”

Our sincere condolences go to Linda and their family.
