Midfield reinforcement for the Bees

Basildon United yesterday announced that they had strengthened their midfield with the arrival of Jacob Katonia.

Jacob arrives from SCEFL side Fisher, but the very detail conscious amongst you might remember him from the one match he played for Cheshunt during the 21-22 campaign- although, let's be honest, unless you're a diehard Amber that's likely to have passed you by!

Jacob contributed nine goals in nineteen matches for Fisher last season, a very good strike rate for a midfielder, and played twenty five times during 21-22. He won the Managers Player of the season Award last year- so it's perhaps no surprise that the manager who gave him that, Ajay Ashanike, would want him for his new club!

The Bees may give him a debut in their next match, at home to Stowmarket Town on Tuesday.
