Millers bring in National League defender

By Ian Townsend

Sheehan is an Isthmian once more

Aveley this morning announced the signing of Braintree Town defender Steve Sheehan.

Steve will be a familiar face to Isthmian League supporters, as he's spent much of his career in our ranks, with East Thurrock United, Billericay Town and Canvey Island. He will be reunited with his Rocks boss John Coventry, who first managed him when he was still a schoolboy and these days is working alongside Millers boss Keith Rowland.

He had two spells with the Rocks, and two with the Gulls, making one hundred and ninety six appearances for United and another one hundred and ninety two on the Island. He joined Braintree in December and was an ever present as they finished the season in twenty first place.
