Millers confirm Allen

Another addition for Aveley, as centre back George seals his return

If Aveley manage to dominate the North Division during the forthcoming season the way they've dominated this website over the last few weeks, then there's every likelihood that the Millers will be celebrating promotion next summer! That said, had a pandemic not got in the way they could realistically have had that celebration already, and they'll be glad to have signed yet another member of the squad that was in second place when it all crashed down around our ears, as George Allen confirms his return.

George joined the Millers last summer, moving over from fellow 2018-19 Playoff Semi-Finalists Coggeshall Town, for whom he'd made eleven appearances- including in Semi-Final defeat by Maldon and Tiptree. He started his football career with Stevenage, and went on to play for Bishop's Stortford, Canvey Island, East Thurrock United and Welling United as well as the Seed Growers.

He made twenty two appearances last season, and it would have undoubtedly been more had it not been for injury which kept him on the sidelines during November and December. He also managed to score two goals when he wasn't busy keeping them out.
