Monday Night Football!

We've two matches in the Pitching In Isthmian League tonight, and they aren't too far apart. Those of you in Surrey and south of the river have a choice to make!

In the Pitching In Isthmian Premier, Carshalton Athletic welcome Aveley to Colston Avenue. A win for the Millers would send them back to the top of the table, and they get the chance to put Saturday's reverse at Horsham behind them quickly. We've no idea how they lost that one, given they were three-two up with just three minutes left, but they'll have good memories of their last meeting with the Robins, an FA Trophy First Round win in December 2019, the fourth hurdle on a run to the Quarter Finals of the competition.

Athletic are having a very up and down sort of season. Out of the bottom four only on goal difference, they were victorious in the Trophy at the weekend- although needed spot kicks to finally shake off the challenge of Cray Valley PM. They've taken only one point from their last twelve in the League, and are without a win since August 20th.

Into the Pitching In Isthmian South Central, and bottom side Merstham take on the side just above them, Guernsey. The Moatsiders will struggle to understand how they don't yet have a win this season, as apart from a hammering against all-conquering Binfield every defeat has been a narrow one. On Saturday they went ahead against leaders Northwood but somehow managed to lose three-two, and surely it's just a matter of time before the notch three points? The Green Lions won't want to play the role of fall guys, and will want to find some form of their own. They've taken only one point from their last three matches- but they've been better on the road and their only win came just along the road from Moatside, as they defeated Sutton Common Rovers at Whyteleafe.

A home win will see Merstham climb off the bottom on goal difference.

Kick off is at 7.45 in both matches.
