Monday's Ryman Premier action review

Ryman League Premier Division

Monday night saw Hendon and Canvey Island's Ryman Premier clash at Earlmead fall foul of a waterlogged but the top flight fixture at Kingsmeadow between Kingstonian and Bognor Regis Town got the nod before ending in a 2-1 win for the visitors, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

K`s were looking to move into the play-off places with a win, while the Rocks could put pressure on the teams currently in the top five if they earned the spoils.

And it looked as though it was going to be the home side's evening when Callum Webb gave them a 39th minute lead with a fine strike from a narrow angle. The K`s held that lead until the break before the visitors drew level five minutes into the second half with a terrific solo effort from Doug Tuck.

Bognor, taking the initiative, then won it with nine minutes remaining when a neat passing move was finished off by top scorer Ollie Pearce.

The win moves the Rocks to within two points of Kingstonian with a game in hand and four points adrift of fifth-placed East Thurrock United.
