More Bees

By Ian Townsend

A morale-booting win for Basildon United- and a set of new names on the teamsheet.

Basildon United fans have had to get used to a number of unfamiliar faces during the last few weeks, and we thought we'd bring you up to date with a quintet of names from yesterday's teamsheet as they defeated Romford three-nil.

Defender Michael Aziaya was at East Grinstead Town recently, playing twice earlier this month. He was previously with Phoenix Sports, VCD Athletic, Romford, Eastbourne Borough and Dartford, but will be better known to Isthmian League watchers from his time at Hastings United and Carshalton Athletic- he was a big part of the Robins squad that earned promotion from the South Division in 2017-18. He also spent time at Ramsgate and Three Bridges last season.

Mohamed Amghar has played this season for Kempston Rovers, and was previously with FC Romania and Leverstock Green, Steven Sardina was with Clapton, amongst others, whilst Pritchard Adjei Afriyie has most recently been with Sittingbourne, although he has already played as often for the Bees in a few days- twice- as he managed for the Brickies in two months. He was previously with Coleshill Town in the Northern Premier League Division One.

Ergest Kraja has ben with Hoddesdon Town, and has also been playing University football for the University of East London.

Not on the teamsheet but also apparently signed this week are Yao Aziamale, who has also been with Sittingbourne this season, making eleven appearances- and previously played for Market Drayton Town, Rhyl, Bangor City, Stafford Rangers and Cefn Druids, whilst Emeka Ukaegbu moves over from Staines Town, and was formerly with Wandsworth Town, Wingate & Finchley and Waltham Abbey.

We've probably missed a few!
