New vice-president needs successor

Faversham Town have made Peter Clarke a lifetime vice-president to recognise his "sterling work" as the Ryman League club's finance director.

The Lilywhites announced they were honoring Clarke for his many years of service at the Shepherd Neame Stadium on Thursday after he stood down for health reasons this summer at the Ryman South club's AGM.

The hunt is now on to find Clarke's successor at the club which is a company limited by guarantee, VAT registered and operates a small payroll.

Officials at Salters Lane say the key post is best suited to a qualified accountant, fully experienced and able to deal with all aspects of the accounts, or a qualified bookkeeper conversant with dealing with payrolls, VAT and commercial software packages such as Sage.

In common with other senior management posts, the role is voluntary and no remuneration is paid. To discuss the role further, please contact Lilywhites chairman Ray Leader on 07709 395001 or email Eddie Glover: eddieglvr@aol.com.
