Non League Day- Premier Division activities

By Ian Townsend

Non League Day is almost upon us. Here's what our clubs have planned!

Non League Day often finds our clubs pushing the boat out to attract those new supporters, and Saturday is no exception! Here’s what our Premier Division clubs are up to:

Burgess Hill Town- the Hillians host Haringey Borough and, as always, are taking a very proactive approach to Non League Day. This year everyone gets in for a pound (under 18’s for free), and they are also a featured match of Kick it Out, the marvellous anti-discrimination charity, who will be raising awareness of their work and recording a podcast.

Corinthian-Casuals- Casuals are hosting a crossbar challenge competition in aid of Prostate Cancer UK as well as a number of other activities, so bring your shooting boots to their match with AFC Hornchurch!

Folkestone Invicta- Invicta face Dorking Wanderers and would like everyone to buy a programme, as cash from the sales will be going to Prostate Cancer UK.

Harlow Town- our first set of Hawks are letting Under 18’s and over 65’s in for free, giving free burger and chips to season ticket holders from the top four divisions (don’t forget your season ticket), and are offering entertainment- hopefully both on and off the field- as they entertain Carshalton Athletic.

Margate are hosting a ‘pay what you like’ day- but they’d like you to give generously as half of the match takings from their fixture against Enfield Town will be given to the blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan. First team players will be warming up in Anthony Nolan shirts, which will be signed and gifted to supporters via a charity match-day raffle.

The club will also be putting a range of unique prizes up for auction online and encouraging donations online.

Merstham- as well as (as usual) giving free entry to all NHS workers, the Moatsiders will be offering £5 entry to any Premier or Football League season ticket holders, holding a bucket collection for Prostate Cancer UK, and reducing Carling to £2 a pint for their match against Bishop’s Stortford.

Tonbridge Angels- Angels will be taking on Bognor Regis Town in what looks to be an exciting affair, and if you get there before 2.15 you’ll get in for a fiver. Normal price applies after 2.15 so get there early!

Whitehawk- the other Hawks have a big day planned. Over fifty mascots from local Junior side Hollingbury Hawks, a top London DJ who plays seven-inch vinyl singles on an Ironing board (no, we don’t get it either!), a half-time penalty shoot out, and- perhaps most attractively- tickets at just £5! There will also be there will be raffles, a golden goal competition, a host of Whitehawk legends from yesteryear and much more besides. Doors open from 12:30pm.

Have a marvellous Non League Day!

By the way, if your club are missing from this list, it may not been that they have no activities, it's may just be that they haven't told us about them!
