Oaks debut Leppard and Smith

By Ian Townsend

Sevenoaks Town added two- but they didn't have debuts to remember

Sevenoaks Town gave debuts to Stephen Smith and Luke Leppard in their match at VCD Athletic on Saturday, but apart from a fabulous attempt at double alliteration it didn't have a very positive impact on results, as Oaks experienced their second five-nil defeat in a row.

Both have a Three Bridges connection. Luke, a striker, made a handful of appearances for Bridges during 2019-20 and 2020-21, but started this season with Ashford United, playing four times. He also played for Greenwich Borough towards the end of the 2018-19 season, making ten appearances and scoring in their victory over Hythe Town and in defeat against Hastings United.

Stephen moves directly from Bridges, the striker making seven appearances this season- and indeed scoring in the draw between his former club and his new club at the end of August. He also made eight appearances for Bridges last season. He previously played for Whitstable Town and Ramsgate.
