Oysterboys ahoy!

More news from the seaside as Whitstable Town confirm eight more

Since we brought you news from Whitstable Town a few days ago, the Oysterboys have been rather busy, confirming eight more returning players to add to the duo of goalkeeper Dan Eason and defender Jake Mackenzie.

Aaron Millbank, Tom Carlton, Ryan Flack, Tom Mills, James Brown, Jay Hards, Liam Gillies and Leo Mazzone have all been added, to take the total up to ten.

Forward Millbank had four goals in his nine matches last season, adding to the fifteen he got in 2019-20. Midfielder Carlton signed on last November so never got to play, but was excellent at Herne Bay and Hythe Town so the Belmont faithful will be looking forward to seeing him in a shirt that doesn't belong to one of their rivals.

Ryan Flack made half a dozen appearances after joining from Cray Valley PM, where he was part of their promotion/FA Vase finalists side, whilst left back Mills played eleven times after joining, having previously been fabulous at Margate and Maidstone United.

Brown made eleven appearances last season, following on from the thirty five he made in the previous campaign. Playing left back or in midfield, he also previously turned out for Faversham Town and Herne Bay.

Jay Hards ended the 19-20 season with the club, on loan from Gillingham, and then chose to stay for the 2020-21 season, such as it was. The midfielder appeared six times during the last campaign.

Gillies, another midfielder, previously played for Dartford, Rochester United and Ashford United, and played ten times last season. He also had a very short spell with Sevenoaks Town, but it was so short that he was back at the Belmont almost before he left.

And just in case we haven't already brought you news of enough midfielders, Leo Mazzone made six appearances last season. Prior to being an Oysterboy he turned out for Ebbsfleet United and East Grinstead Town, where he made more than one hundred and fifty appearances. He also spent some time- a very short time- at Ramsgate.
