Penn swaps the Kentish seaside for the Sussex Hornets

Kane Penn makes a Horsham debut

Horsham gave a debut to full back/midfielder Kane Penn in their victory at Margate on Saturday. Kane was undoubtedly rather comfortable at a Kentish seaside, as he made the move to the Hornets from fellow Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Folkestone Invicta.

Kane joined Invicta in the summer, and has made thirty seven appearances for the stripes this season- more than any other player. He also helped out with two goals, both in victories.

He moved to Invicta from Hastings United. He was a mainstay of the United midfield during their first Premier season following promotion, making forty nine appearances and scoring six goals. That followed twenty five appearances as his side soared to the Pitching In Isthmian South East title the year before.

He came through the Academy at Pilot Field before spending some time at Eastbourne United. At the end of last season he swept the board at the Hastings United end of season awards night, picking up a collection of Player of the Season awards- and he started his Horsham career with a man of the match award, courtesy of the Supporters Club, who gave him a large collection of peanuts!

A fine day for Hornchurch, who didn’t play! Both Chatham and Billericay lose- Carshalton and the Tags the victors- whilst Horsham go fifth. Rooks and Gulls deliver a late show, but have to settle for a point each
