Phipp in, Bay delighted

Midfielder Tom goes from Cray to Blue

Herne Bay Football Club have announced the signing of Cray Wanderers- and for a short time more recently, Tonbridge Angels- midfielder Tom Phipp.

Tom came through the youth rannks at Arsenal, before making his name at Ebbsfleet United. He moved on to play briefly for Maidstone United and Margate, Tonbridge Angels, and- more recently- Cray Wanderers, where he was a big part of their promotion in 2019, and- injury aside- their Pitching In Isthmian Premier success in the two abandoned seasons since. He made eleven appearances last season before it came to a rather premature end, and then moved on to spend a short time with Angels once more before the world crashed around all of our ears once more.

First team manager, Ben Smith, had this to say on his most recent signing:

"Tom is a great addition to our squad, he’s got all the ingredients that we have been looking to add for some time and will really complement what we have.

It’s another addition that has a wealth of experience and knows what it takes to be apart of a successful team."

Ben actually said more than that, but if you want to read it, then you'll need to head here!
