Pitcher pitches in at Lancing

By Ian Townsend

Charlie Pitcher is back at Lancing- and it's a goalscoring return

Lancing's super comeback win at Ashford United on Saturday was capped with a last gasp winning goal from a returning striker, as Charlie Pitcher, who had only been on the pitch for twenty minutes, sending the visiting fans into paroxysms of delight!

Charlie spent some time with Burgess Hill Town last season, making ten appearances, and he has most recently been with Haywards Heath Town- but he has played for many Sussex clubs. He started life as a youth with Crawley Town, made a senior debut aged sixteen at St Francis Rangers, stepped up to sign for Peacehaven & Telscombe, spent time at Dorking Wanderers (not in Sussex!), Loxwood and Horsham (very briefly) before joining Shoreham.

He has also spent time with Crawley Down Gatwick, Hassocks, and, leaving Sussex for a moment, was a big success at South Park Reigate, where he spent a year and scored ten goals between the autumn of 2018 and the autumn of 2019, before leaving the club with then boss Jay Lovett to head to Hill.

Any Kingstonian fans looking in will remember Charlie's dad Geoff very fondly, an enormous part of their FA Trophy winning glory years in the late 1990's.
