We're asking fans from each of our clubs to answer a series of questions about the past, present and future- and to predict the final league table for 22-23. Time to take a trip down old Father Thames, where we’ll find Mike and Walton & Hersham.

1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?
As an overall highlight, I would have to say it was promotion. We left it quite late after dropping some points at the back end of the season but getting it over the line with a couple of games spare was a relief. As an individual highlight (if anyone would say any different they are delusional!) it has to be Jersey away. Being 4-1 down in the 85th minute, to come back and draw 4-4. To be there and witness it was something else. I honestly thought at that time that we were 1000% getting promoted.

2. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 2022-23?

Overall, I think we have a very strong squad. The key, I feel, is keeping a core of the team- which we have done. Losing Louis to Kingstonian was quite sad as I feel he would have developed better under Scott, but you can’t blame a player for wanting to playing higher. The three additions that Scott has added are great signings. Max Blackmore is a proven goal scorer at this level and above, Arsen Ujk who actually played for us in the last 16 of the Vase two seasons ago was outstanding that day, and John Gilbert (honestly I know not a lot about him, but he has proven himself at Walton Casuals last season in the Southern Premier South…not bad right?). If we can keep this team throughout the year, and stay as injury free as possible, then you just never know…

3. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

Playoffs is well within our reach with the squad we have. I have no doubt about it. I would be disappointed if we didn’t get in the top 5.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Guernsey away obviously! I think any fan would be looking forward to that trip. I’m also looking forward to our games against Hanworth Villa. I really like what Simon has put together there. Looking strong next year so it will be a good test.

5. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?
In the Isthmian South Central, got to be Chipstead. I say that selfishly for myself as I never lost there as a player and scored an absolute doozie there back in the 04/05 season! In all fairness, it’s always a pleasure going there. Great people, great club and the pitch is immaculate all year round.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Gotta be Chertsey Town hasn’t it? Local derby. Great team. Really looking forward to that one. Have a great relationship with them so all in good spirit. Basingstoke will be interesting…..Say no more!

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Enjoy the afternoon like you would do at any ground you visit. We are very lucky to have the facilities we have at our ground (bigger bar would be nice!) but like any non league game you go to it’s all about enjoyment. Win lose or draw it’s all about the experience of travelling to new grounds. See a good game of football, have a beer/tea/water/burger/buy a programme in a relaxed environment with a good crowd. Let’s hope numbers are up on last year which I’m sure they will be with non league football gaining more and more attention every year.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

Max Hustwick. Nearly at the age where he’s picking up his state pension and strolling round the pitch like he’s 21. Love it. Definitely got a few more years left in him.

9. Who do you predict will finish in the top five this season?

Leatherhead, Hanworth Villa, Walton and Hersham, Chertsey, Bedfont Sports
