By Ian Townsend

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. We’re off to the Sussex coast, visiting Hastings United with Matt Kemp.

1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

Nearly reaching the play offs. Beating eventual champions Bishops Stortford 3-2 after being 2-0 down with 14 minutes left.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Not reaching the play offs.

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Kane Penn and skipper Jack Dixon.

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 2023-24 campaign?

New GK Charlie Grainger.

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

I think we will be in the play offs- if not champions.

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Chatham Town- highly recommended- and Lewes for the Derby day.

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Carshalton Athletic or Hashtag United.

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Again Carshalton Athletic or Margate.

9. Choose your top five:

Hastings Utd, Billericay Town, Whitehawk, Canvey Island, Hornchurch
