Purcell back at Bowers- and he's not alone!

Two forwards at the Len Salmon, as Sach and Purcell sign on

Bowers and Pitsea have announced the return of striker George Purcell, who moves back from Hornchurch after only being there six weeks.

The record goalscorer at Hornchurch, with 149 goals in 279 appearances, he left the club last year to join Canvey Island. He made a dozen appearances for the Gulls, scoring six times, then moved on to sign for Grays Athletic and scored six more. His last appearance for Athletic was in victory against Great Wakering Rovers in mid January, and he then moved to play for Rovers, scored on his debut, but only played twice more before ending a the 2019-20 campaign at Ashford United, joining a month before the lockdown and playing only five times- but still managing to find the net on four occasions. He moved to Bowers in July, and then headed back to the Urchins in October, playing nine times and scoring once.

The club have also introduced Bradley Sach, who moves over from Aveley. The forward joined the Millers from Potters Bar Town in the summer, and made ten appearances, scoring in the first three. He got nine goals in his thirty six games for the Scholars last season, only once finishing on the losing side after finding the net. He came though the Academy at National League side Boreham Wood, playing regularly for their first team, and scoring his first goal against Torquay United in August 2017.
