Quickfire double lifts Beachboys

By Peter Butcher

TWO goals in three first-half minutes earned Concord a 2-0 victory at Cray tonight (Wednesday) and lifted them from ninth to fourth in the Ryman Premier table.

The result was perhaps predictable: both sides went into the game with five defeats on their record, four at home and one away.

And both maintained that form as Steve King gave Concord the lead ahead in the 18th minute and Tony Stokes (pictured by Gavin Ellis/TGS Photo) quickly added the second. It was his 15th league goal of the season and put him three ahead in the race for the division’s Golden Boot.
