Rams reign over Deres

By Ian Townsend

Pitching In Isthmian South East leaders Ramsgate hit Erith for five in a Sunday massacre

Ramsgate, who saw Three Bridges go level on points with them on Saturday, quickly reestablished their three point lead at the top by delivering a hiding to Erith & Belvedere.

TJ Jadama was the chief architect of the Rams twelfth victory- from fourteen matches- of the season. The Rams number twenty has been more of a provider than a scorer this season- although he did start the day on six goals- but on this occasion he had his shooting boots thoroughly fastened. He put his side ahead just after the half hour, and on sixty eight minutes headed home an Alfie Paxman corner to make it two. Seven minutes later he claimed the match ball, finishing a pass from Jordan Green, and then he turned provider, setting up Joe Taylor for the fourth- Taylor’s twenty eighth of the season, which come from only twenty five matches.

Seven minutes from time the Rams scored a fifth. Alfie Paxman did most of the hard work, but it was Sinnkaye Christie who applied the finish- the substitute having only been on the pitch for two minutes.

Ramsgate are three points clear of Three Bridges, have conceded only nine goals this season, and have a significantly better goal difference than any of the sides chasing them. The Deres remain in the bottom two, but could possibly climb out on Wednesday night as they welcome Littlehampton Town.

A note to our clubs- if you believe that any of the goals scored by your side was worthy of consideration for the 'Goal of the Month Award,' please feel free to upload it now using the link you were sent, don't feel that you have to wait until the end of the month!
