Rams sign Brentwood defender

Salami heads to the seaside

Ramsgate have announced the capture of Brentwood Town's former Southend United defender Abdul Salami.

Abdul came through the ranks at Southend, joining them in 2012 and going on to captain their Under 18 side. He spent some time on loan at East Thurrock United in 2016-17, and also played for Tilbury before moving to the Brentwood Arena last October.

Rams manager Matt Longhurst explained:

“Abdul is a quick, strong defender who has an old school style of play. He has been brought up on the same ethos as most of our current group.

I actually attempted to bring Abdul in last season but he wanted to stay loyal to Brentwood until the end of their campaign, which I respect.”
