Rams skipper asks for help

Ramsgate captain Mike West needs surgery, and is asking for help to fund it

Ramsgate captain Mike West has been an enormous part of their success this season, playing twenty six times as they've topped the table for much of the campaign and reached the Second Round of the FA Cup- but he is worried that his season is over.

Mike recently suffered a serious injury to his shoulder, and has now discovered that requires surgery- surgery that will cost rather a lot of money. As such, and supported by his club, he has launched an appeal.

He explains:

'The road to recovery is not easy or cheap. After consultations with medical professionals, it's become clear that I need surgery that will cost £9,000 – a sum that is daunting for me to face.

This procedure is vital not only for my return to football at Ramsgate, it's to be able to return to the pitch and contribute to Ramsgate's title push. Our team has big dreams, and I'm eager to play my part in making that a reality. This operation will also be for maintaining my long-term health and mobility in future life.'

So far, nearly eighteen hundred pounds has been raised- and you can read more and help by heading here.
