Ramtastic!

Ramsgate stay top with a four goal haul, Chatham win our big match, Whitehawk stay unbeaten and Vickers get five

Our leaders Ramsgate welcomed Three Bridges to the Kent coast, and held onto their top place by scoring three goals in twelve second half minutes. Ashley Miller put the Rams ahead early on, but a Brannon O’Neill penalty pulled the visitors level midway through the half and it remained that was for more than forty minutes, until Kane Rowland’s second of the campaign put his side ahead. Just three minutes later Jamie Coyle put clear water between the sides, and thirteen minutes from time Tijan Jadama got a fourth to make quite sure.

Out match of the day looked to be the meeting of second place Chatham Town and third place Ashford United. The two sides were separated only by goal difference at start of play, and it was a tight match, as we might of expected. The only goal of the game came eight minutes before half time, Emmanuel Oloyede securing three points for the Chats in front of nine hundred and twenty nine.

Whitehawk, our only unbeaten side, played host to Hythe Town. It was closer than we might have expected, but a goal right at the end of each half earned another win for the third place Hawks, Joe Shelley with the opener, Joel Daly clinching matters in the last minute. Sevenoaks Town had been nothing short of superb of late, moving from the bottom four to the top five courtesy of four wins and a draw from their previous five matches- but they were thrown firmly back into the doldrums by East Grinstead Town. The Wasps were on a poor run which had seen them lose their last five in League and Velocity Cup, but they were ahead after twelve minutes, Tahjae Anderson opening the scoring, and after the break Matt Daniel and Sam Williams added two more. Even a late red card for Tariq Straker didn’t dampen the mood- a result which saw the Wasps climb to eleventh and Oaks drop four places.

VCD Athletic seemed to have hit the buffers of late, with five successive defeats, but they got back on track in style against Faversham Town. An own goal gave them the lead on eleven minutes, and in the ten minutes before the break they added two more, David Ozobia and Karl Dent making things rather comfortable for the hosts. Soul Kader got a fourth on sixty four, and Anthony Adesite added number five just before the end as his side went fifth.

Sittingbourne and Beckenham Town met in a mid table clash with both aspiring to be further up the table, and the match ended with Becks up to sixth and the Brickies down to fourteenth. Becks had to come from behind to win, two goals in the last thirteen minutes doing the damage in a five goal thriller. George Goodwin gave the visitors an early lead, but the Brickies equalised before the break, Matthew Attenborough-Warren levelling matters. The next goal also went the way of the Brickies, Youssouf Bamba putting them ahead, but with thirteen minutes remaining Brad Goldberg looked to have earned the visitors a point. Louie Theophanous, as has happened so often this season, had other ideas, and the Becks striker got his fifteenth of the season with two minutes remaining. Town have two, three or even five matches in hand over the sides above them in the table, and a good run could soon see them challenging at the top.

Chichester City, outside the top five only on goal difference at the start of play, travelled to face a previously out of sorts Haywards Heath Town. The two sides had to settle for a point each, and Heath may well be a little disappointed with that given they played most of it against ten men after Ethan Robb saw red for the visitors just before the break. Ethan Pritchard had earlier given City the lead, but in the moments before half time Heath scored two of their own, Byron Napper and Lukas Franzen-Jones giving them the lead. Pritchard drew the ten men level midway through the second half, and that was that.

Cray Valley PM are three points and three places behind fifth place VCD Athletic, after coming from behind to take a point as Littlehampton Town came to call. Hassan Ibrahiymgave the Millers the lead just after a quarter of an hour, but the Golds turned the tables, Lucas Pattenden just before the half hour and Josh Short soon afterwards giving them a half time lead. The equaliser came nineteen minutes from time, and it went to Denzel Gayle. Town are a point behind their hosts, in tenth.

Lancing took four points from Burgess Hill Town last season, and looked on course for some more as Thomas Butler gave them a ninth minute lead at Culver Road, an outcome which looked even more likely when Tyrone Madhani made it two-nil on thirty six minutes. The Hillians, however, had other ideas, and got three in the seven minutes prior to the break to take a lead into half time, Dan Perry, Hayden Skerry and Lewis Finney against his former club sending the away fans to the bar in cheerful mood. The second half saw no addition to the scoreline, and lifted the Hillians to thirteenth.

Finally, Sheppey United welcomed Corinthian. The Ites had a very good week, a win at Littlehampton on Saturday followed by a last-gasp draw with Chatham, and that positivity continued when Ola Majoyegbe got the only goal of the game on sixty six minutes. Sheppey are up to twelfth.
