Regent bring in Witham's Thompson

Witham Town have announced that centre-back Jake Thompson has left the club to sign for Brightlingsea Regent.

Thompson has been an ever-present at the heart of the Witham defence this season, after signing from Braintree Town in the summer, where he was part of the reserve setup. It was a big step up, but the player took to it well, even being converted to central defence by manager Marc Benterman- before arriving at the club he was known as a midfielder.

He has made thirty three appearances for the club, scoring one goal.

Regent host Potters Bar Town on Saturday.
