Former Eastbourne Town manager Tony Reid is heading back to the Saffrons on Saturday in Ryman South with Walton & Hersham after being named by the Swans as their new manager on Friday.

Reid, pictured, resigned as manager of Eastbourne Town in January. He succeeds James Cameron who stood down at Stompond Lane last weekend in the wake of the 2-1 defeat at home to Herne Bay.

Cameron took over from Steve Baker earlier in the season having previously worked with the club`s reserve side. He said the reasons behind his decision were not all football related and that he regretted leaving the club.

Martin Beard took over as caretaker for Tuesday’s 4-1 reverse at home to Corinthian Casuals before Reid’s appointment was announced in a statement on the club’s website on Friday.

Reid was head coach at East Sussex Eastbourne Town before replacing Kevin Laundon as manager in August after his predecessor walked away after only three months in the job.

The Swans also paid tribute to their former manager in the statement and said: "The club wishes to thank James for all his hard work and efforts on behalf of Swans since taking over from Steve Baker earlier in the season, and for his previous work with the reserve side. We wish James all the best for the future and hope he gets back into football soon."
