Robins bring in an Angel

Steve McKimm takes over as Carshalton Athletic boss

Former Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm has been announced as the new boss at Carshalton Athletic, replacing the departed Peter Adeniyi, who as you may have just read has taken over at Merstham.

Steve departed Longmead ten days ago, surprisingly- after once more steering his side clear of trouble in National League South and leading them on a long run in the FA Trophy. He delivered promotion and stability at a higher level despite budget constraints during his eight years at the helm, that memorable elevation coming when they defeated both Merstham and Met Police in Play Off Finals- yes, that was the year that they had to win two- to take promotion during 2018-19.

Club Owner Paul Dipre told the club website:

"Steve was the favoured candidate to lead our promotion campaign next season, he has the enthusiasm, experience and energy that Peter and I were looking for. Lets all rally around Steve and give him our support in his new challenge."
