Dipre took over as manager in March 2011. While he did little to improve the club’s league form during his tenure he did lead Carshalton on two good cup runs, including a historic win against Lincoln City in the FA Trophy second round and a narrow defeat by Woking in a Surrey Senior Cup semi-final.
This season started with great expectations after a number of high-profile signings but, although the defence has been constantly decimated through injuries, it was a lack of scoring that contributed to so many dropped points.
Dipre brought in defenders Alton Thelwell and Tony Sinclair to cover for the last-minute move by centre back Ryan Tafazolli to Mansfield and injuries to David Ray, Justyn Roberts and Michael Kamara. However, after two creditable draws against Bury Town and Lewes, team performances slackened.
“I had high hopes for the season but things haven’t worked out and we have underperformed in the five of the eight games we have played,” said Dipre.
“I made the decision while on a break last week. I had to face the fact that we had played six league games without a win, we were struggling to score goals and I was unconvinced about my ability to turn things around.”
First-team coaches Ian Hazel and Tommy Williams will take charge of first team affairs at this current time.
