East Thurrock United to hold open meeting next Wednesday

East Thurrock United are asking supporters to come along to an open meeting next Wednesday, 11th March, at 7.30 PM- to discuss matters connected to the future of the club.

The sad and untimely passing of former owner Ben Bennett and the decision made by manager John Coventry to step down at season's end is likely to be added to by the departure of a number of volunteers, and the club, in a statement, explain that they are likely to need a 'chairman, football secretary, treasurer, plus additional people to ensure the smooth running of the club, particularly on home matchdays,' as well as additional financial support and sponsorship, just to allow them to maintain their current status.

At the meeting Colin McBride, representing the club's owners, will be present to outline the latest situation. Colin is a former manager of Thurrock and Hornchurch and is 'working with the Bennett family to ensure that East Thurrock United FC has a sound future.'
