Rocks launch Christmas 'Shoebox Appeal'

Fill your shoebox with goodies for children or the elderly

East Thurrock United are, as usual, showing their charitable side- and manager Marc Harrison is spearheading a shoebox appeal designed to bring good cheer to the less fortunate over the festive season.

The premise of the appeal is that you fill a shoebox with goodies, wrap it in Christmas paper, and mark it with details of whether it is for a child or an OAP (specifying gender if you include gender specific items, and age range if it is for a particular age of child) and then drop it off at the club. Childrens items will be distributed by the Samaritan’s Purse charity (read their tips here), whilst items for the elderly will be distributed via local churches.
