Roman around again

Brickies striker heads to Folkestone

Sittingbourne manager Chris Lynch has confirmed on social media that striker Roman Campbell is off to the Premier Division to play for Folkestone Invicta.

Writing on Facebook, he explained:

'Folkestone put in a 7 day request for Roman Campbell last week.
This is another tough one, as Folkestone are a league above, they are in the play offs currently and they have offered him a 1.5 year contract which, should they get promoted, will increase his wage further.

We simply can not compete with that, Mo (Chairman) was personally covering Roman’s wage.

It has been a very difficult decision for Roman personally, which has taken him all week to consider. However, ultimately, after long conversations, Roman reached his final decision late last night.

I would like to thank Roman for his spells here, his goal contributions both this and last season, we wish him all the very best in his quest to achieve league football.'

Invicta's new striker has played twelve matches for Sittingbourne this season, in two spells. He also spent a short time on loan at Ramsgate, Enfield Town and Cheshunt on loan from Gillingham.
