Romford head to Barking

Club to share Mayesbrook Park for 2020-21

Romford spent much of last season trying to find somewhere suitable to play football, after the pitch at their shared stadium, Brentwood Town's Arena, proved incapable of supporting the endeavours of one team, let alone two. Yesterday it was announced that their 2020-21 campaign should not face similar problems, as they are to groundshare with South Central Division Barking, who will have a brand new 3G surface which will host the Blues, the Boro, and Essex Senior League side West Essex.

Barking Chairman Rob O'Brien announced the groundshare yesterday, explaining:

"I'm sure that like all non league football fans, managers, players and staff we can't wait to start the new season. It's exciting times for Barking, having a new 3G pitch and improved stadium facilities for our own team and our guests. I'd like to welcome our new guests and Borough neighbours Romford FC, who will be playing all of their home games at Barking FC next season."
