Romford sign National League midfielder

By Ian Townsend

Braintree man heads to the Boro

Braintree Town, who sit in eighth place in National League South, have announced that attacking midfielder Jason Banton has left the club to join Romford. The former Plymouth Argyle, Crawley Town, Notts County, Woking and Dulwich Hamlet man has scored five goals for the Iron this season. He played his last match in defeat against Hampton and Richmond Borough last weekend.

This deal has not yet been announced by Romford, who travel to Felixstowe and Walton United tomorrow. The Boro have only one win all season and are at the bottom of the table, four points from safety- but given the number of new players who have arrived recently aren't expected to stay there!
