Rooks bring in former Wingate forward

By Ian Townsend

Mendy moves to Lewes- our second Mendy move today!

Lewes have signed former Wingate & Finchley forward Anthony Mendy, and gave him his debut from the bench at half time in the home defeat to East Thurrock United on Saturday.

Mendy joined the Summers Lane outfit in February of last year from Bedford Town of Evo-Stik South Division One Central, and made fourteen appearances scoring nine goals- goals which helped fire his side out of relegation trouble, and which included two in the critical victory over Burgess Hill Town on the last day of the season. He made nine more this season, before becoming one of Glenn Tamplin's first signings for Romford- but like many of them he played only once for the club before departing.

He was previously on the books of Enfield Town, Marlow, Chalfont St Peter and Beaconsfield Town.
