Rooks get Rapinoe to help with crowdfunding

By Ian Townsend

Lewes ask for help- and offer world cup-winning prizes!

Lewes this morning became the latest of our clubs to launch a crowdfunding appeal, the Rooks looking to raise at least thirty four thousand pounds to replace their ancient floodlights and also carry out improvements to the pitch and toilet facilities. If that figure seems oddly specific, that's because if they raise 34k they trigger another forty thousand pounds in grants, allowing them to do much more.

There are a number of 'prizes' available to those who donate. Anyone who puts in more than twenty pounds is entered into a draw to win a Rooks shirt signed by US footballing legend Megan Rapinoe, whilst for fifty pounds you will be mentioned on one of their fabulous and acclaimed match posters- and be sent a copy. Put in one hundred quid and you'll be sent an actual team shirt- worn by the team last season- whilst additional offers go up to two thousand pounds, which will get your name on one of the floodlights (if they last as long as the current ones, it'll stay there for half a century).

You can learn much much more, and get to watch a video presented by a man who you might not recognise- but we bet you'll recognise his voice- by heading here. Oh, and if any of you personally know any of the members of Pink Floyd, perhaps you can get the band back together for another benefit?!
