Rovers to leave Gander Green Lane

Sutton Common Rovers to move to new premises for 2022-23

Sutton Common Rovers yesterday confirmed that their groundshare with League Two side Sutton United would be coming to an end at the end of this season.

Rovers, who make the trip to Woking to take on Westfield today, explained in a statement that they would be leaving the Borough temporarily for next season- destination hopefully to be announced shortly. It is hoped they will return to Sutton some time during the 2023-24 campaign, as they are working with the local council to upgrade the David Weir Leisure Centre with the hope of moving there. The Leisure Centre is opposite St Hellier Hospital, so technically in Carshalton- a stones throw from Imperial Fields, home of Tooting & Mitcham United and- from next season- Kingstonian.
