Seasiders management team departs

Manager Watson and coach Bloomfield depart

Felixstowe and Walton United have announced the departures of manager Ian Watson and coach Danny Bloomfield. In a short statement on social media, released yesterday evening, the club explained:

'We regret to announce that manager Ian Watson and coach Danny Bloomfield have left their roles at the club by mutual consent with immediate effect. We express our sincere thanks to both of them for all their hard work. Full story on website tomorrow.'

Watson became sole manager at the club in December last year, having previously been part of a managerial duo with Kevin O’Donnell. He had been a player at Walton prior to the two clubs joining together to form the present entity, and also managed Felixstowe Harpers. His first match as sole manager was a two-one defeat at Maldon and Tiptree, his final match was an away defeat at AFC Sudbury on Tuesday night.

Danny first joined the club as a teenage player, and in his playing career also turned out for King’s Lynn, Lowestoft Town, Histon, Needham Market and AFC Sudbury, amongst others.

We'll bring you more on this story, and attach a link to the full statement, once it appears.
