Westfield yesterday announced the appointment of Ian Selley as their new manager, and he watched from the sidelines as his new side triumphed at Binfield. he will take his place in the dugout as they face Guernsey in midweek.
Ian took over as manager of Chertsey Town in November last year and steered his charges to the South Central Play Off Final- indeed, almost a year on, we're still not quite sure how they lost it! He has since been in charge, albeit for a short time, at Hartley Wintney.
Prior to his time with Chertsey, he was a UEFA Cup Winners Cup winner with Arsenal, and went on to coach with the club. He also lifted the FA Cup- he was an unused substitute as Arsenal defeated Sheffield Wednesday in a 1993 Final Replay; and the League Cup, similarly occupying the bench the same season against the same opponents.
He later played for Southend United, Fulham, Wimbledon and Woking, amongst others, and managed Sandhurst Town.
