Billy Bennett signs on at Chatham Town

Chatham Town have announced the arrival of former Sheppey United captain Billy Bennett.

Billy announced his departure from the Ites via social media earlier this week, explaining:

'It’s goodbye for now!

I’ve truly enjoyed my time at Sheppey, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end one day.

Big thanks to all of the staff, the people who work behind the scenes and most of all the fans. Good luck and all the best!'

Billy won a collection of trophies with the Ites, as well as making more than one hundred appearances and scoring forty goals. He returns to a club he played for during their earlier spell in the Isthmian League. He was previously with Herne Bay, Phoenix Sports, Greenwich Borough, Sevenoaks Town and Beckenham Town.
