Sheppey United to score for the community

Every goal this season will mean a donation to the local food bank and other community causes, as Ites launch new initiative

Sheppey United are proud of their standing in the local community, and hope to build that even higher this season- when goals will not just mean success for the team, but for the local foodbank and other community projects.

The club this week announced an initiative, which they have named 'The Big Match,' which will see them donate twenty pounds to the community for every goal they score at Holm Park- both in the Pitching In Isthmian South East, and in cup competitions.

Commercial Director Paul Rogers explained:

'The continued support of every supporter means the world to us - without each and every one of you there would be no football club. What we also have to remind ourselves is that things are tough at the moment for far too many people in our own community, and we hope by setting up The Big Match we are able to help families on the Isle of Sheppey.

We have already put lots of incentives in place by way of free drinks during the season as well as price freezing admission costs where possible for the fans. We feel The Big Match will go some way to help more people, more often.'
