South Park make sure you know where they are!

Sparks formally change their name to add their home town

Pitching In Isthmian South Central club South Park FC have formally changed their name- to South Park Reigate, which will stop us from making any more jokes about who may- or may not- have killed Kenny!

The Sparks, based in the leafy suburbs of their home town- you now know where that is- were formed in 1897, and were once, following a merger, actually known as South Park and Reigate Town FC, a name they abandoned in 2003. It must be said that South Park Reigate is far more snappy and easier to fit on a badge- and the new badge is shown above.

The club released a short statement yesterday, explaining:

'The FA Council have agreed to our request to add Reigate into the clubs registered name.

The club believe it will enhance their profile locally as well as in the wider football community.'
