Bay officials announced on Friday that as part of their agreement with Terrace Hill Foodstores Development Ltd, a member of the Urban and Civic Group, they have been awarded the naming rights for Winch’s Field for a minimum of three years.
Terrace Hill are the developers of the new Sainsbury’s Superstore which is opening on the Altira Business Park on the main Thanet Way next year and under the terms of the deal Winch’s Field will be named The Altira Park Stadium.

Hailing the deal before thanking their sponsors, Boddy said: “For the majority of clubs at our level the major problem is finance, making ends meet each week. Therefore sponsorship in any amount is of paramount importance.
"When it comes in the significant amounts being provided by our main club sponsors Terrace Hill over a minimum of three years then it is totally invaluable. The thanks of the whole club - players, management, directors, committee members and supporters - goes out to them.”
Wakefield said: “Terrace Hill are big supporters of football at all levels, and we are delighted to become a sponsor for Herne Bay FC.
"The club does a superb job as a focal point for the town and in providing our assistance we are recognising all the good work it does. Good luck to all the Herne Bay teams and everyone associated with Herne Bay FC for the rest of this season."
