Stortford sign a striker...and then a midfielder

Richardson is a new arrival at the Prokit UK Stadium- and he is soon joined by Ibe

Bishop's Stortford last night announced the arrival of former Aveley and East Thurrock United striker Tom Richardson.

Tom, who started last season with National League South side Braintree Town, also played for the Rocks whilst they were at the same level- but Isthmian League watchers will know him better from his time with the Millers, Brightlingsea Regent and Brentwood Town.

He started his senior career playing for Romford, and was then part of Brentwood Town's North Division promotion side of 2014-15. He was critical to Brightlingsea Regent's North Division promotion in 2017-18, scoring twenty two goals as he helped fire them to the title, and then got nine goals in twelve games for Aveley in 2017-18, before hitting another twenty two as they reached the Playoffs in 2018-19.

He returned to Parkside towards the end of last season, playing a handful of games before the campaign was brought to a premature end.

This morning the Blues added to their haul by announcing the signing of midfielder Callum Ibe. Callum came to prominence at our former club Thurrock, and turned out for Canvey Island during their Premier Division relegation season of 2016-17 and- briefly- during 2017-18- and season during which he also played briefly for Grays Athletic. He has also played for Romford, Southend Manor and Walthamstow.
