Sunday football

Two of our sides have away Cup matches this afternoon. Head along and watch.

We may have had lots of FA Cup action yesterday, but it isn't over, as Romford and Grays Athletic both travel in the FA Cup this afternoon.

Boro take on Boro, as Kensington & Ealing Borough host Romford. This match will be played at the Powerday Stadium, home of Pitching In Isthmian South Central side Hanwell Town. The ground is just off the A40, or a short walk from Perivale Station on the Central Line, so London groundhoppers this one is tailor-made for you! The hosting Boro are in Division One of the Combined Counties Football League, and sit in ninth, with two wins and two defeats from their four matches. Our Boro will want to bounce back from an opening day hammering against Maldon & Tiptree last week.

Grays travel to face Baldock Town, but the match will be played at the home of Arlesey Town, which looks best reached by car. Town have lost both of their opening League matches in the Spartan South Midlands League, but they did knock Wembley- the club, not the stadium- out of the Cup in the last round. Athletic impressively defeated Bury Town in the League last weekend so won't be short on confidence.

Both matches kick off at 3PM.

Where next?

Goal crazy! We had goals galore! Phoenix Sports and Tilbury got seven, Kingstonian, Hanwell Town, Felixstowe & Walton United and Whitstable Town five, and even the draws tended to be high-scoring. Read all about it here.
